Fuji South Africa was kind enough to lend me the new Fuji X-T1 for a couple of days to test out and I took it with me on my trip to India at the beginning of March. The camera completely blew me away and I immediately placed my order when I got back! What I love most about it is the size…. it’s SO much smaller (and lighter) than my Canon 1D’s even with the battery grip. The viewfinder is beautiful (and HUGE). I’ve never been a fan of electronic viewfinders, but can definitely live with this one. The focus is surprisingly fast and accurate even in extremely low light. Manual focus is a breeze. I’ve order a couple of adapters off ebay and are looking forward to dusting off some of my old M42 mount lenses.
I’m not a pixel peeper at all and I’ll often add grain in post, but the image quality on this camera is simply amazing! Images at ISO 6400 is very usable. I’m looking forward integrating this little gem into my current setup and I’ve already started using it more and more at weddings.
Here’s some very random photos from India with the Fuji X-T1 and X100:
